Firstly, let’s get things right: Folio 100 is the latest Toshiba gadget, a Tegra 2-powered Android Smart Pad. It sole purpose is to counterattack the Apple iPad and to steal some media playing costumers. The Folio 100 tablet specs have just been announced by Toshiba, and I might say they sound pretty good. As for the price or the release date, there is little to be known, apart from a rumor that says the Smart Pad will be launched in October 2010. Nothing confirmed until now, so let’s talk a look at what Toshiba has to offer. Maybe we even can guess a price.
Starting with the operating system, the Toshiba Folio 100 tablet specs announce Android 2.2 ( Froyo ) on deck. The most interesting part is that he comes with NVIDIA’S dual-core Tegra 250, making a fresh start for gamers out there. Who knows, maybe you will even play Starcraft 2 on this one. The Folio will feature a ten inch touchscreen, capable of 1024×600 resolutions and with a HDMI port. For movies, the tablet will have 16 GB of internal storage and here it comes: an SD card slot, making it one of the fewest tablets out there with expanding capabilities.
For connectivity, the Toshiba Folio 100 tablet specs contain mini and normal size USB ports, Wi-Fi, 3G, and Bluetooth. A camera has also been added, but it only has 1.3 megapixels. When it comes to browsers, Folio 100 will choose Opera for its default, working hand in hand with the well-known Flash. As for the battery, you can spend up to seven hours playing. It even looks good:

the Toshiba Android smart pad will be called Folio 100
