Rumor: Android 3.0 ( Gingerbread ) release date and details

Official Google sources teamed up with Eldar Murtazin, the Russian phone guru, have brought us a few details and a possible release date of the future Google developed OS, the Android 3.0, also known as Gingerbread. As the developers predict, this will be a high end operating system, created solely for smartphones with requirements that will blow your mind off. The main idea of this concept is to keep Android 2.x versions to low and medium cost cellphones and let the 3.x to the tough guys. What does tough guys mean in the Android market?

Well, it seems Google’s idea of high end smartphones for the near future is a processor somewhere near 2.1-2.2 GHz and 1 GB of ram. That’s why Android 3.0 will be designed for cellphones that have a 1.5 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM memory, running on a display with the minimum size of 3.5 inch. Gingerbread will also have a premium feature for cellphone with a 4.0 inch display: a 1280×760 resolution will be supported. Google promotes them as the recommended requirements for Android 3.0. Well, that tops my laptop.
