Rumors have recently started to appear on the web, saying that Dell is planning a new Android based Tablet. After the release of the Streak, those of Dell wants to came with a new device that will be more on people taste, than their last attempt. The Tablet prototype was showed at the Oracle OpenWorld conference in San Francisco, where Dell’s CEO Michael Dell affirmed that the device will help the company bring in more than $60 billion in revenue next year.
Dell’s new Tablet will be similar in size and shape with the Samsung Galaxy Tab, and wants compete with the mother of all tablets, the Apple iPad. We don’t know much about this new device, “of course, it’s nice to have a larger screen” was Michael Dell’s only words related to the tablet.
Of course, the Tablet will be running Google’s platform, the Android OS. We don’t know yet what OS version will they choose for the device, but definitely above Android 2.1. Who knows, maybe we will have the surprise to see the Gingerbread (the Android 3.0 OS version) making its way on this gadget. Apparently, Dell’s 7-Inch Android based Tablet release date will be in the end of 2011, plenty of time for those of Dell to come with some spicy specs and fetures for the device. No pricing details were given, only the promise that we will find out more in the following weeks.
