In order to take full advantages of your Advent Vega tablet you must know how to install the ClockworkMod Recovery image on it. So, after we have showed you how to backup and how to gain root permissions over your Android based device, now you will learn another important operation, which is meant to customize and improve its operating system. You will be able to install ClockworkMod Recovery on your Advent Vega by following a few steps, which are explained and detailed during the lines from below. Make sure you read all the explanations and then, give it a try.
You must know how to install CWM on the Vega tablet if you are looking forward in powering up its performances by flashing a custom ROM (such as CyanogenMod) on it. Also, as I was saying in the introduction, a custom recovery image will unchain your device from the factory restrictions, the operating system being open for customize and optimize operations. The process will only take a couple of minutes and a few apps will do almost all the work; your job is to download them and then to follow my directions.
ClockWorkMod Recovery (or just CWM) is a custom recovery for Android phones/ tablets that allows you to perform several advanced recovery, restoration and maintenance operations (hard reset capabilities, install a .zip custom ROM from the SD card, backup in an easier way, change the menu bar, icons and the phone theme and so on). A custom image will replace the stock recovery with a new one that will be more “open” to changes and improvements.

The Advent Vega tablet
Before we begin, here are the tools we will need: you have to download the ClockworkMod Recovery, the flash_image and the Advent Vega Recovery app; all these are free distributed so you don’t have to pay anything for them. For getting fastboot check:
Then, in order to get started, the Advent Vega must be rooted. If not, check our previous guides and learn how to do that too. After that, I recommend you to backup the tablet data, apps and everything else because the procedure might wipe the data out from it and also from its SD card, so be aware. Another negative aspect is referring to the fact that installing ClockworkMod Recovery will make you void the Advent warranty, so if you’re not comfortable with this, you should probably stop here; if somehow, something is going wrong you are on your own.
That being said we can finally begin the proper step by step guide. Pay attention and do all as explained. If you are having problems while completing one of the steps, share the issues with us so we can help you through.
